Remember how we used to have tea parties, almost every day with our friends. Where we would pretend that we were grown ups, with busy lives and catching up on the things that went past?! How we’d yearn to grow up and be independent, foray into the world on our own and make a life out of it?! Where you were my imaginary best friend and I’d share with you the life I had dreamt of, in the future. A future devoid of sorrow, heartbreaks and grief. Well for starters.. there ain’t such thing, life isn’t a tea party Teddy! Little did I know that it was only make believe! Little did I know that, the grown-ups painted a rosy picture of all things beautiful and happy, to instill hope and faith into us. Not their fault entirely, they were only over-protective of me! After all I was their only princess and they would give up anything to see me happy.
Honestly though, nobody carries the onus of treating us the right way except our ‘grown-ups’! So stop expecting, ‘coz you are not entitled to anything entirely; except what you earn out of pouring your sweat into. It is you, who will have to treat yourself right, ‘coz it is you who has to live with yourself this entire while. So be your own ‘Hero’.
