Winter Care – Himalaya Premium Skincare Range

Indian fashion beauty lifestyle blog styleapastiche style a pastiche, Himalaya herbals premium skincare cream review

Do you hate winters, for it brings all the dryness with it? I do! No matter what you do, you still have a patch of skin that is dry and no amount of cream is enough to ward it off. If you do apply a little more of what is required, you end up looking like you have an oily face. During winter you’d need to take extra care of your skin, be it dry, oily or combination. How about pampering it with the latest range of Premium skincare creams from Himalaya Herbals, that are alcohol and paraben free too. Here is a quick review of the ones I’m talking about that are suitable to various skin types:

Himalaya Herbals Anti-Wrinkle Cream

Want wrinkle free skin? Then try the Anti-Wrinkle cream from Himalaya Herbals’ Premium Skincare range. Enriched with natural extracts – Aloe Vera and Grapes, it helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, moisturizing skin and minimizing age spots. Fortified with natural ingredients like Aloe Vera that is a rich source of saccharides, which helps in keeping the skin deeply nourished. Grapes are rich in AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Suitable for Normal to Dry Skin beauties.

I didn’t try this one out as I have a combination skin type and this cream felt heavy on my skin. I gave it to a friend of mine who has dry skin and she loved it. There was a lovely glow on her skin, post 3 weeks of usage. Neither did it break her out nor did it irritate her skin.

Himalaya Herbals Oil-Free Radiance Gel Cream

This cream gently hydrates the skin to give an oil-free radiant glow. A light, gel based cream enriched with special herbs that is quickly absorbed, hydrates and makes your skin look radiant. It is enriched with Barbary fig rich in polysaccharides and known as an essential ingredient to keep the skin moisturised. Winter Melon exhibits anti-oxidant properties and keeps skin healthy, protected and rejuvenated. The Himalaya Herbals Oil Free Radiance Gel Cream is perfect for Oily Skin Beauties or ones who have a combination skin type too.

My Impressions: Upon usage, it is easily absorbed and doesn’t leave behind a shade of oiliness, yet hydrates and soothes your skin. I have applied it under makeup and, it still doesn’t make my skin look oily. It has a very mild fragrance that will fade away quickly.

Himalaya Herbals Clear Complexion Whitening Day Cream

A light and non-greasy day cream, enriched with unique herbal extracts and CINNABLOC™, gives a radiant glow and brighter skin tone. Licorice and White Dammer ensures 3 effective actions of hydration, lightening and clear complexion. Licorice is a known for fading the dark spots and blemishes. Whereas, White Dammer exhibits anti-oxidant properties and therefore reduces mild pigmentation and spots. Suitable for Dry to Combination Skin.

My Impressions: I do have a pigmented combination skin type, so this cream was indeed very light on my skin. I like the fact that it has UV protection and that I don’t have to apply any additional sunblock cream over it. The cream offers an almost matte finish, it sure evens out my skin but doesn’t really cover a few dark pigmentation spots. I’m not sure of the whitening effect of it as I only have used it for 3 weeks now, but it sure didn’t cause break outs. I also like the the cream has a mild floral fragrance in it that fades away soon enough.

Tomato is known for its rich ingredients of flavonoids and AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and helps in cell renewal. Suitable for Dry to Combinatioin Skin types

My Impressions: I like the fact that this cream is very light yet effective, unlike other heavy night creams I’ve used until now which leaves my skin feeling sticky and greasy overnight. I’ve used it for about 3 weeks now and it hasn’t irritated my skin neither has it caused break outs.

Disclaimer: Sample sent across for review purpose by the brand – Himalaya, either way my reviews are always untainted and honest.

What I like about this range:

  • A Premium range of products available at your nearest drug store or even on Himalaya Herbals’ website (Click Here)
  • It is conveniently priced between INR 200 & INR 250 for jars of 50g, not much at all when compared to a few other
  • The ones made for the Combination and Oily Skin are very light and do not cause break outs at all.
  • All the creams contain natural ingredients and are dermatological tested, non- comedogenic, free of mineral oils and parabens, and hypoallergenic.

Cons:

  • I do love the heavy glass jars but they aren’t travel friendly and aren’t hygenic either.

  5. Last time I used a himalya shampoo it turned my and my room mates hair like a broom. It was so traumatic that I cannot believe in it’s skin care too. Your review looks positive but I will have to gather lot of courage to use this skincare. Great review!

    • I totally understand Ankita, I haven’t used Himalaya for a long time now. And was a li’l skeptical to do so. I felt the 3 creams worked for my combination skin though!

  7. I too have my contentions with glass jars, specially since I travel a lot. Mumbai winters are nearly non-existent. Having said that, pollution and stress demand a year long skin care regime.
